About us

At Sydney Hellenic Dance Company, we share the joy of Greek dance with students aged 4 through to adults, whether you’re stepping onto the dance floor for the very first time or continuing a lifelong love of movement.

Led by Jenny and Georgia, our classes are about so much more than learning steps. We aim to inspire a deep pride in cultural heritage while nurturing confidence, creativity and a genuine love of dance. Students explore a rich mix of styles, including traditional and contemporary Greek dance, choreographed routines, drama, mime, performance skills and traditional song, creating a vibrant and engaging learning experience.

Beyond the studio, Sydney Hellenic Dance Company also delivers professional folkloric and Modern Greek performances for community celebrations, festivals, weddings and private events.

Directors Georgia Gouros and Jenny Zagas bring decades of experience across many dance styles, including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, character and folkloric dance. In 2025, they proudly celebrated 40 years of teaching and service to the Greek community.

Their passion for Greek culture began in childhood, performing with the renowned Sirtaki Dance Group under the direction of Mr Theofanis Petsinis, a foundation that continues to shape their teaching, performances and love of sharing Greek dance with the next generation.​
